iPhone/iPad unable to stay connected to Mac

Is your iPhone/iPad getting disconnected and connected continuously while plugged into your Mac?

Well, you have come to the right place for the solution to your issue. Now lets solve your issue right away.

Perform the following steps to solve your issue.
First things first: 

-Check whether your USB cable is working fine. If your USB cable is faulty or is a non Apple-Certified cable, you might come across such an issue. Try connecting using a different cable.


Still the same?

-Try restarting your Mac and your iOS device.


If this does not solve the issue then continue through the following steps.

-Connect your iOS device to your Mac. Open Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor

When the app opens up, enter usbd in the search box and force quit the process by clicking on the button with ‘X’ mark on the top left corner.

You can also use the terminal app to do the same above step. Here is how.

Open Applications > Utilities > Terminal

When the terminal app opens up, type in the command, “ sudo killall –STOP –c usbd “ without the quotes. It will ask for your Mac login password. Enter the user login password. This will solve the issue.

If the steps till now has solved your issue, then good. If not, continue to the next options below.

-Try resetting the NVRAM and PRAM on your Mac. This method will help if any hardware on your Mac is causing the issue. Follow the steps below carefully.

Step 1: Remove your iPhone from your Mac.
Step 2: Shut down Mac.
Step 3: Now turn on Mac, and hold down ‘Option’+’Command’+’P’+’R’ keys for about 20 seconds. Release the keys when you hear the start-up chime on your Mac.
Step 4: Wait for a minute, and your Mac will restart.

When the Mac starts, connect your iPhone/iPad and check whether the issue has solved.

If your problem still persists, contact your apple service centre get your Mac checked by an Apple authorised technician. Thank you.
